Our “Get to Know You” engagement sessions are fun, casual, inspiring, entertaining, and great kindling for romance during the midst of stressful wedding planning. Our engagement session style infuses the posed with the candid. Loren’s favorite way to photograph a couple’s portrait session is to set you up in a good location with good lighting and then he backs off, encouraging you to be yourselves while he captures you as unobtrusively as possible while you’re “in the moment” so that even our, “Look here and say, ‘CHEESE’” shots are all genuine smiles and no cheese!

The biggest benefit of an engagement session is that it allows you to get to know and become comfortable with your photographer. Once you get to know him or her, and it’s evident that personalities gel, you quickly become old friends! And, you should definitely love your photographer, because your wedding photographer is the one vendor that you will be spending nearly the entire day with! Through the engagement session, your photographer also gets to know you and any little quirks you may have! Are you a blinker? Do you automatically stiffen whenever a camera is pointed your way? These are things your photographer should probably know about before the big day!

An engagement session offers the opportunity for professional-quality romantic (or romantically goofy, depending on your style!) portraits to use in save-the-dates, on a wedding website or Facebook, and also to display at your ceremony or reception site. Engagement portraits also allow for a modern signature guestbook to be made and used at the reception to collect well-wishes and other yearbook-style messages from your wedding guests.
